2024/2025 WOOL AMBASSADOR Katie Drum

Each year, the DCSWGA designates a Wool Ambassador. The primary purpose of this position is to represent the DCSWGA on our regional community, promoting sheep and wool.  

 

THIS YEAR'S WOOL AMBASSADOR IS:

Wool Ambassador 2024

 

Katie Drum is an eighth grader at LaGrange Middle School.  She has been raising Southdown sheep all her life and has a show flock that travels across the country.

This year Katie has been to the All-American Youth Sheep Show, the North East Youth Sheep Show, multiple county fairs, and the Eastern States Expo.  She is also on her way to the North American International Livestock Expo, to show her futurity lambs she has been accumulating points for all year.

Katie has been a member of the Dutchess County 4-H program for seven years.  She also raises and shows Market lambs for the 4-H auction.  In her spare time, she studies karate at Traditional Okinawan Karate in Pleasant Valley and tries to stay on the honor roll at school.
